About Melovia
A studio that turns things down
Founded in Shanghai in 2023, Melovia makes audio at desk scale. The team comes from transducer engineering, industrial design and recording; it is small, and follows every product from prototype to production.

Studio listening position · 65 dB reference
The beginning
It began with two people voicing a small pair of speakers in a 12 m² room. Most desktop speakers, we found, are designed for living-room distances: plenty of power, exaggerated bass, and coarse at 70 cm.
So we moved the measurement distance to one metre, set the reference level at 65 dB, and started the crossover and cabinet again. That prototype became Aria One, and the reference for everything after it.
Four working principles
Measure, then describe
Every prototype carries full near-field and off-axis data; listening notes must map back to measurements.
Subtract for small rooms
We do not use DSP to fake physics; we would rather lose a little bass than add false weight.
Repairable by design
Cabinet, amplifier and drivers are separately serviceable, with standard fasteners and connectors.
What we decline to make
No speakers with screens, no firmware behind a membership, no models that exist only in renders.
Timeline
- 2023Studio founded in Shanghai; early measurements for the Aria platform.
- 2024First Aria prototype completed with the 3-inch and 19 mm driver pairing.
- 2025Aria One and Lumen move to small-batch production; the 65 dB reference position is set.
- 2026Arc stands ship, completing the three-piece desk system.

The studio
We build and listen in an old factory building in Shanghai. The room has basic acoustic treatment but keeps one brick wall, a reminder that most listeners do not have an anechoic chamber.
